Terms of Service

We have written these terms in plain language. The summary at the top is the practical version. The rest is here because the Chrome Web Store and the law expect us to spell things out.
Summary
Four Line is free to install and use.
It is provided as-is, with no warranty of any kind.
You are responsible for what you type into AI services through Four Line. We are not.
We are not affiliated with OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, Moonshot, or any other AI provider Four Line happens to embed.
Don't use Four Line to do anything illegal or to abuse anyone.
You can stop using Four Line any time by uninstalling the extension.
1. The Service
Four Line is a browser extension that replaces your new-tab page with a workspace for using AI chat services. It lets you open multiple AI services side by side, broadcast a single prompt to several of them at once, and keep a personal library of prompts and notes that lives in your browser. Four Line itself does not provide any AI capability — every AI response you see comes from a third-party service that you are using through your own account with that service.
2. License To Use
We grant you a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Four Line for personal or business use, subject to these terms. The license is automatically revoked if you breach these terms.
You may not redistribute, sell, sublicense, or otherwise commercially exploit Four Line or its source code without our written permission, except as expressly permitted by an open-source license file included in the project (if any).
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Four Line:
To violate any law, regulation, or third-party right.
To harass, threaten, defame, or harm any person.
To produce or distribute malware, spam, child sexual abuse material, or content that incites violence.
To circumvent the rate limits, access controls, or terms of service of any AI provider Four Line embeds.
To reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to build a competing product specifically by analyzing Four Line itself, beyond what is permitted by applicable law and any open-source license.
We do not actively monitor what you do inside Four Line — we cannot, because we have no server (see the Privacy Policy). Compliance with this section is on you.
4. Third-Party Ai Services
Four Line is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, Moonshot AI, or any other AI provider whose service Four Line happens to embed. The AI service names, logos, and trademarks are the property of their respective owners and are used only as factual references to the services Four Line lets you open.
When you sign in to and use one of these services through Four Line, you are entering into a separate agreement with that provider. Their terms of service, acceptable use policy, and privacy policy apply. We are not a party to that agreement and have no responsibility for the content, availability, accuracy, or legality of anything you receive from those services.
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of each AI service through Four Line complies with that service's own terms.
5. Your Data
Four Line stores your workspace (tabs, groups, prompts, notes) only on your own device, in your browser's storage. We do not have a copy. See the Privacy Policy for details.
You retain all rights to anything you write into Four Line. Because we do not collect or transmit any of it, we make no claim of any kind over your prompts, notes, or other content.
If you choose to use Four Line's Export feature, the resulting JSON file is yours to do with as you wish.
6. No Warranty
Four Line is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or continued availability.
In particular, we do not warrant that:
Four Line will be free of bugs or interruptions.
The embedded AI services will work, will not change their interface in ways that break broadcasting, or will continue to allow embedding at all.
The information returned by AI services through Four Line will be accurate, useful, or safe to act on.
You use Four Line at your own risk.
7. Limitation Of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will we, our contributors, or our licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of Four Line, including loss of data, loss of profits, business interruption, or goodwill, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our aggregate liability for any direct damages arising out of or related to Four Line is limited to one hundred US dollars (USD $100), which the parties acknowledge is reasonable given that Four Line is provided free of charge.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
8. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of Four Line, your breach of these terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.
9. Termination
You may stop using Four Line at any time by uninstalling the extension from chrome://extensions. We may terminate or suspend the Service or these terms at any time, for any reason, including discontinuing the extension entirely. Sections 5 (Your Data), 6 (No Warranty), 7 (Limitation of Liability), 8 (Indemnity), and 11 (Governing Law) survive termination.
10. Changes To These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the change, and the new version will be published at the same URL where you are reading this one. Material changes will also be noted in the Chrome Web Store update notes for the version that introduces them. Continued use of Four Line after a change constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of <your-jurisdiction>, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The exclusive forum for any dispute arising out of these terms is the courts of <your-jurisdiction-courts>, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
